Five Stones Mentality

Five Stones Mentality

Last time I checked, David didn’t walk out there with one stone… he picked up five.

I heard this in a YouTube video the other day, and I don’t even remember who said it… but it’s been stuck in my head ever since.

They said David wasn’t just ready for Goliath… he was ready for his brothers too.

And I don’t know man… that’ll preach right there.

Because that changes the whole picture for me.

David wasn’t walking into that valley hoping it works out. He wasn’t crossing his fingers like, “man I hope this hits.”

No… he walked out there like, “I’m handling what’s in front of me… and if anything else wants to show up after that, I got something for that too.”

That’s a different kind of mindset.

See, a lot of us walk into battles with one stone.

We pray one time. We take one shot. We build up just enough courage to face the thing in front of us… and that’s it.

And if it doesn’t go how we thought? We feel like we’re done.

But David… he came ready.

Not just spiritually… but mentally too.

He trusted God, yes… but he also prepared.

And that’s what’s been sticking with me.

Am I walking into situations ready… or am I just hoping?

Because life doesn’t send one giant.

It sends follow-ups.

You beat fear… here comes doubt. You push through doubt… here comes pressure. You handle pressure… now insecurity tries to creep in.

It’s like they travel in packs.

So when David picked up five stones… that tells me something.

“I’m not just here for this moment. I’m ready for whatever tries to come behind it.”

That’s not lack of faith… that’s maturity.

That’s understanding that God gives the victory, but I still show up ready.

So here’s where I’m at with it…

I don’t want to live my life carrying one stone anymore.

I want to be ready.

In my mind. In my spirit. In how I move.

Because if something steps up against what God’s doing in my life… I don’t want to be scrambling.

I want to already be holding the next stone.
